Acnederm
Azelaic acid is a dietary component content in some animal products, is contained naturally in wheat and rye.
Used topically it is an anti-androgen, acting as a competitive inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase and thus decreasing the DHT. It 'used to treat acne in the form of ointment.
According to Dr. Lee, the azelaic acid is close to 100% as effective in inhibiting the action of 5-alpha reductase.
Azelaic acid inhibits the type 1 5-alpha-reductase.
E 'irritating to the skin, especially with the first applications, like tretinoin, although it seems so minor. Side effects are generally mild and transient. The most common are itching, tingling, stinging sensation in 1-5% of patients. Redness, dryness and peeling in less than 1% of patients.
And 'do not expose the treated skin to the sun during treatment.
And 'anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, helps disorders of keratinization, against free radicals.
Azelaic acid, which was approved by the American FDA, is a very weak acid, less vinegar, but in vitro studies have shown that azelaic acid inhibits 90% of DHT.
It 'also an excellent vasodilator result at the level of the hair follicle.
E 'useful associate zinc and vit. B6 . Similar to zinc has inhibitory action on the 5 alpha reductase (the enzyme that converts testosterone into another form called DHT, see general information on androgenetic alopecia ).
Products containing azelaic acid are Bioesse Mavi lotion (cosmetic, does not show the%), Revivogen natural scalp therapy , Xandrox , Remox , Corvinex , Crinagen , NR-07 .
And 'the anti-androgen used by Dr. Lee in his formulation called Xandrox (5%) and Dr. Klein as Remox III (1 .5%).
There are important Skinoren and Acnederm at concentrations that suggest its use for the front row and difficult areas
